Who says the preseason doesn't matter? Well, just about everyone. An ecstatic Russell Westbrook is trying to use the preseason to improve, but not only on the court. The Oklahoma City Thunder star is seen on video drawing up plays on a whiteboard in between the third and fourth quarter.

Thunder assistant coach, Mo Cheeks is helping Westbrook diagram the play before the former MVP rips the board away and draws up what he wants. Of course, this is all in good fun and Cheeks doesn't mind letting his star player take charge of the team's scheme. Westbrook might have a career in coaching after his playing days are over.

While the preseason is all fun and games, the Thunder are entering a pivotal campaign. It's the second year with Paul George as Westbrook's running mate. They were not satisfied with their first-round exit at the hands of the Utah Jazz last season. There's no doubt that Westbrook and company are coming into the 2018-19 season with something to prove.

Staying healthy is one of the most important things for every team. The injury bug bit the Thunder last year when Andre Roberson was lost for the season. His defensive versatility is key for Oklahoma City and it was obvious that they were a different team without him.

Unfortunately, Roberson suffered a setback recently and will be re-evaluated in two months. Billy Donovan would love for his squad to be fully healthy on opening night, but it's much more important that they are healthy for a potential playoff push.
