Over the course of three grueling overtimes, things inevitably got chippy between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Philadelphia 76ers. Sixers big man Joel Embiid was in the middle of the action as he normally is, as Russell Westbrook had some choice words for him along with a wave goodbye shortly after the final buzzer.

Westbrook revealed post-game that he told Embiid to “go home” after the game ended and explained exactly why he said it.

Westbrook’s displeasure at Embiid stemmed from the fact that Embiid waved goodbye to Steven Adams when the Thunder center fouled out. Westbrook found that gesture unnecessary and decided to throw it back at the Sixers star after sealing the win.

Embiid had a very Embiid-like comeback to Westbrook’s jabs for him to go home as the Sixers big man took a dig at Westbrook’s 33 shots.

But while Westbrook did shoot an excessive amount of times, he also contributed 18 rebounds and 15 assists, the most crucial of which set up an Andre Roberson layup, which turned out to be the game-winning basket.

Embiid just can’t help himself with his constant antics and trash talk throughout the game. But that also means he’s inevitably going to take some trash back, as Westbrook did by telling him where to go after the loss.
