Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is touted as the team's point guard of the future, and he's already learning from one of the best floor generals in NBA history and another former Los Angeles Clippers guard, Chris Paul.

CP3 and SGA have been working out together for the past couple of days, and the latter admitted that the former is one of the players he looked up to growing up:

Both Paul and Gilgeous-Alexander were traded to the Thunder last month. CP3 came over in the Russell Westbrook deal, while Gilgeous-Alexander was part of the Paul George trade. OKC also got a bunch of draft picks thanks to these two trades.

Although Paul may not stay in OKC for long, the same cannot be said about Gilgeous-Alexander. The Thunder believe he can be a great point guard in the near future. SGA has already shown flashes of becoming an elite playmaker, and that was evident during his playoff run with the Los Angeles Clippers last season.

OKC plans to be competitive, which is why they do not want to trade CP3 just yet. Aside from being able to produce double-doubles on a nightly basis, he might just be able to help the team develop their next star in Gilgeous-Alexander.

It might take a long time before we see OKC as a legitimate championship contender again, but if that happens, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could be leading the way.
