Earlier this year, rapper Rick Ross’s son, William Roberts Jr., committed to playing football at Bethune-Cookman University. In a heated social media post, his mother, Tia Kemp, demanded that Ross cover the cost of their son’s bill as he heads to the university. Kemp wants Ross to cover the $209,931.58 bill for the team’s equipment, not their son’s tuition. She wants Roberts to hop on a call to speak with his father about the bill.

“I ain’t playing.” “I need you to call your daddy right now. You tell him. You screenshot this right now, that right there, and you tell him, that’s how much I need in my bank account.”

Kemp and Ross have had a very public and toxic relationship over the years. Going back and forth over social media to discuss personal matters, including Ross no longer having to pay child support. During her rant, Kemp brought up the fact that Ross owns almost 30 Wingstop locations.

“I ain’t talking no $20,000. I’m sick of them little $20,000,” Tia continues. “I’m sick of those 20-piece wings. I need 200-something thousand wings. You tell him there’s a bunch of 0’s behind that. Not a 20-piece.”

Kemp and Ross were in a relationship for about four years before they parted ways. The Miami native made a name for herself as an entrepreneur and content creator. Kemp is currently a co-host of the Aunt-Tea Podcast along with Tokyo Toni, the mother of influencer Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, and Karlissa Saffold, the mother of rapper Blueface.

Roberts played football for St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Saint Thomas Aquinas has one of the top football programs in the country but is also one of the top NFL-producing high schools as well. He began receiving football offers in 2021. Schools including the University of Miami, Syracuse, Florida International, Texas A&M, Colorado, and his father’s alma mater, Albany State, made him an offer as a freshman.

The 6’2″, 270-pound offensive lineman is set to start at Bethune-Cookman this fall. Per HBCU Gameday, it is still unclear if Roberts is on a scholarship at Bethune-Cookman.
