Tiger Woods was involved in a harrowing car crash back in February, resulting in serious injuries and a lengthy hospital stay.  Many assumed, due to the nature of the injuries, the golf legend's career was all but over. Well, Woods being the competitor he is, decided he isn't done with golf just yet. And we'll actually be seeing the 45-year-old on the course sooner rather than later.

Woods took to Twitter to announce that he would be participating in the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie, who is a talented golfer in his own right.

This is amazing news for the world of golf, all of which was holding its breath after the news of the Tiger Woods' accident broke. The images of the car wreck painted a truly grim picture, and it's quite frankly miraculous that the golf icon didn't suffer even more severe injuries.

The fact that he's going to be participating in the PNC Championship is an amazing step in his recovery. It's the perfect event for Woods to make his return, too. The family-themed tournament will see Woods playing alongside his son Charlie throughout the three-day affair, participating in various challenges, and of course, playing 18 holes.

Woods crashed his 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV while driving a reported 87 mph down windy roads in Southern California. He lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the road, crashed into a tree, and the car subsequently began to roll. Woods sustained compound fractures to both the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Woods was hospitalized for a long spell and then was bound to a wheelchair for months after that. It's incredible to see the face of golf making such important strides in his recovery.
