Minnesota Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell may not be the biggest player around, but he proved on Saturday that he can still get way above the rim.

Russell released himself from Celtics forward Grant Williams and drove to the hoop with authority. With 7 foot 2 Luke Kornet coming to meet the Timberwolves star at the rim, Russell slung a nasty left-handed slam right in Kornet's face. Keep in mind, he's only 6 foot 4:

Absolutely ridiculous. I mean, he didn't completely put him on a poster but still, it was impressive considering the height difference. Russell has started the last six games for the Timberwolves, averaging just under 20 points during that span.

It's been an underwhelming season for Minnesota, but they have collected some impressive wins over the last few weeks, even beating the Jazz on back-to-back occasions.

The Timberwolves will likely be looking ahead to the draft lottery to see if the team can get another top pick in July after Anthony Edwards dazzled in year one. The Antman is a heavy favorite to win Rookie of the Year alongside Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball.

With a solid core at hand with Karl-Anthony Towns, Edwards, and Russell, better days could be ahead in Minny.
