New Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Ryan Saunders met with every player on the team individually on Monday after he was named the new man in charge of the club, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

The Timberwolves fired Tom Thibodeau on Sunday and named Saunders the interim head coach. Ryan is the son of the late Flip Saunders, who coached Minnesota for a total of 11 seasons.

Ryan Saunders met with each player to talk about how he's going to use them and the style of play he is going to implement:

Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose told local reporters on Monday that Saunders wants to play a faster pace.

The Timberwolves take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Saunders' first game on Tuesday night. It will be the first time we get to see how the team's offense, defense and rotations will differ from Thibodeau.

Ryan Saunders is only 32 years old, so he's going to connect with the guys on the team really well. Reports out of Minnesota have stated that the players on the team love Saunders and are excited to see how he's going to run the unit moving forward.

Minnesota enters Tuesday with a record of 19-21, good for 11th place in the Western Conference standings. They are currently on a two-game winning streak.
