After a down season in Cleveland, individually, Timofey Mozgov was expected to resurrect his career with the Los Angeles Lakers this year.

His signing opened up free agency with so much noise mainly due to his four-year $64 million contract. It did raise eyebrows, but many still believed that he isn’t a lost cause after displaying what he can do, when healthy, a couple of seasons ago.

Unfortunately, the seven-foot center ended up in another offseason setback as it’s been reported that Mozgov suffered a groin injury playing for Russia in an exhibition match against Ukraine.

It should be noted that last summer, Timofey Mozgov underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and his slow rehabilitation spelled doom on a then-promising campaign.
