The Tennessee Titans announced their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday.

Wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks, were listed on the team's initial roster. Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler and a 10-year NFL veteran, signed a two-year contract with the Titans in July.

“I am very happy, very glad,” Hopkins said after signing his deal, via Titans Senior Editor Jim Wyatt. “This was a team that as soon as the offseason hit and I knew I was possibly going to be traded, this was a team that was on my list of places that I wanted to play because of the history Mike Vrabel and I have, the history Tim Kelly and I have.”

They were joined by running backs Derrick Henry, Tyjae Spears and Julius Chestnut. Five cornerbacks and five safeties made up the team's options in the secondary. Defensive backs Sean Murphy-Bunting, Amani Hooker, Kristian Fulton and Kevin Byard took starting spots on the Titans' depth chart.

Who is one sneaky roster cut survivor who could impact the Titans in 2023?

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Titans general manager Ran Carthon and head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the wide receiver position during the NFL owner meetings in March.

“We are going to look to address it,” Carthon said, via Wyatt. “We are not trying to fill everything via free agency, but if that's where the best option comes from, we'll address it that way. We just have to be patient, and exercise patience and allow that to come to fruition.”

Vrabel had his own input on the team's wide receiver search.

“I think we are trying to put the right pieces in place,” Vrabel said, via Wyatt. “Whether it's a big, fast guy, a small, fast, guy. (Whether) it's a smaller, quicker player. You're trying to find what the fit and the value is at every position.

“Ran and I and everybody on the coaching staff, personnel side, we all understand we are going to have to find some guys to get open and catch the ball, that are hard to tackle after we catch it. So, we are going to continue to do that.”

The Titans finished the 2022 season at 29th place in the league with a total of 3,227 receiving yards, according to NFL.com. They took spots behind the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams. Their 16 receiving touchdowns put them on pace with the Panthers and the Rams near the bottom of the league. Receiver Robert Woods, now a member of the Houston Texans, led the Titans with 527 receiving yards in 2022.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, a three-year veteran for the Titans, recorded 397 receiving yards during the 17 games he played in the 2022 season. He earned a season-high 119 receiving yards during a game against the Denver Broncos in November, adding two receiving touchdowns as the Titans took a 17-10 victory in Nissan Stadium. Westbrook-Ikhine played in three games and 68 total snaps for the Titans during the 2023 NFL preseason, according to Pro Football Focus. He played in 31 snaps as the wide receiver and 27 in the slot.

Seven wide receivers made the Titans' initial roster. Hopkins and Burks took starting spots on Tennessee's depth chart. Chris Moore, Kyle Philips, Colton Dowell and Kearis Jackson rounded out the other wide receiver options. If Westbrook-Ikhine can carve out his role among two talented starting receivers, the Titans will have a solid chance at boosting their receiving game in 2023.
