Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, a classic game from the PlayStation Portable, will be headed on the PS4 and the PS5 on September 29.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Comes Out Alongside Valkyrie Elysium
PSP classic Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, an enhanced port of the first Valkyrie Profile game, will be coming out on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 29, 2022. The game will be launching alongside Valkyrie Elysium, a reboot of the series. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth follows the story of a Valkyrie named Lenneth, as she travels through Midgard, collecting the souls of slain heroes to serve either as einherjar, warriors who serve as personal companions of the Valkyrie in Ragnarok.
It’s expected that the PSP version of the game will be completely ported over to the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The game features dungeon exploration with light platforming elements, with RPG-style battles. The game also has an iOS and Android port released in 2018. Given the failure of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, which used mobile versions of the game when porting over the remaster, we hope that Square Enix will port over the PSP version instead of the mobile version for the PS4 and the PS5.
Combat in the game is unique and a staple in the series (overhauled in Elysium and replaced with a real-time action-oriented combat system). Two sides take turns attacking, with the player being able to have its units attack simultaneously each turn. Attacks consume CT, a consumable resource that gets replenished between turns. Players can use as many attacks by any character they have for as long as they can afford the CT cost of the attacks. This allows players to string attacks into combos, dealing additional damage and enabling players to unleash devastating abilities.
Valkyrie Elysium Digital Deluxe Edition will be coming out three days earlier, on September 26, 2022. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a free copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth for the PS4 and the PS5.
