Unlike in previous years, the Cleveland Browns have made it to the 15th week of the NFL season still in contention for a playoff spot in the AFC. And their hopes of eventually catching the boat to the postseason got a major lift early in Thursday’s road game against the Denver Broncos when quarterback Baker Mayfield found Breshad Perriman for a highlight-worthy 31-touchdown score that gave the Browns a 7-0 lead.

The Browns needed just five plays to send Perriman into the end zone, which came after Cleveland’s defense made a fantastic effort on the other side of the field. The Broncos had the first possession of the game, but came up with nothing after the Browns’ stop unit forced them into a quick three-and-out.

Perriman’s touchdown also served as a nice reminder to football fans that he’s still hanging around in the NFL. Perriman was waived by the Baltimore Ravens just before Week 1. He would later sign with the Washington Redskins, didn’t even last seven days with the team before he was cut. After almost a month of unemployment, Perriman was inked to a deal worth $705,000 by the Browns.

The Browns entered Week 15 with a 5-7-1 record and still with a chance of sneaking into the playoffs as a wildcard, though, they would need help from other teams to book a schedule beyond Week 17.
