Vince Carter has still got some fuel left in the tank, and while he might not use the same high octane he ran with the New Jersey Nets and the Orlando Magic, he intends to make it last for two more seasons.

Entering his 18th season and the third with the Memphis Grizzlies, Carter is one of the most respected veterans in the NBA.

Carter attended a football game at the Larry Kelly Field in Daytona Beach, Fla. when ESPN caught up with him and asked the 39-year-old what kept him coming back to play:

“Love for the game. Nothing else. I just love to play. It's not out of me yet. When I don't want to play and don't want to put the work in, that's when I'll step away from the game, but right now I still love it.”

The Daytona Beach native was also asked when he'd consider hanging them up:

“Not right now. We know No. 19 is definitely going to go down. I'm shooting for 20, and we'll go from there after that.”

If ‘half-man, half-amazing' indeed makes it to a 20th season, he'll only be the second guard in history after Kobe Bryant to accomplish that feat.

While Carter's scoring prowess has declined over the years, his ability to morph his game from being an incredibly athletic slasher to a respected shooter with a solid back-to-the-basket game has kept him in NBA rosters for the past half-decade.

The North Carolina standout has not averaged double figures since his time in Dallas as he's seen his playing time reduced to a mere 16.8 minutes per game with the Grizzlies last season.
