A visit to the White House has been a staple for the champions of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States. It usually is a no-brainer. A harmless activity that doesn’t come with much controversy.

But with Donald Trump the sitting president and host of the White House, this subject has become a contentious one with the Warriors who were contemplating whether they should go there or not, until Trump rescinded the invitation Saturday morning. Dismantling LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals appeared to be an easier task for the Warriors than coming up with a decision with regards to a potential Washington trip for Golden State.

During the Golden State Warriors’ media day on Friday, the subject was once again brought up with different Warriors fielding such questions from reporters. Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was among those who had to deal with it and was quick to put things into perspective.

Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post has a quote from the 13-year NBA veteran.

Iguodala, perhaps tired of hearing the topic, just wanted everybody to step back and assess how much time we have spent talking about this when there are more serious topics are existing involving the White House.
