Andrew Bogut was suddenly presented with the opportunity to return to his former team, as the Golden State Warriors looked to fill their last spot on the 15-man roster with a capable handcuff to DeMarcus Cousins. The offer was too hard to refuse, and Bogut made sure he'd capitalize on it by giving the thumbs up:

“It’s too good of an opportunity to pass up,” Bogut said of getting back with the Warriors, according to Ethan Strauss of The Athletic. “My wife and I decided this would be something I’d regret if I passed up. It’s a really cool thing, a really cool story. I’m just excited to be a good teammate and help us win a championship.”

The 7-footer has returned to the place where he spent the most successful seasons of his NBA career, and the same that had traded him to the Dallas Mavericks after four years, starting the decline of his NBA future.

Bogut is coming off an MVP season with the Sydney Kings of Australia's National Basketball League, and his expectations remain just as high as they were after winning a title with the Warriors in 2015. The Aussie hasn't been shy to give his teammates a few reminders:

“I told a couple of guys, ‘I didn’t come out here not to win it. So let’s make sure we win it.’”

Andrew Bogut brings not only a familiar face, but also part of a culture of accountability and a brotherhood this roster has slowly lost after changes in the past three years — something that can eventually be reconstructed if he can help this generation of Warriors find their long-lost “joy” for the game.
