After logging a season-high 32 minutes on Thursday night against the Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors big man DeMarcus Cousins has been making steady progress in his road to full strength following his career-threatening Achilles injury last season.

According to Cousins himself, he has been feeling great and expects to be able to suit up for back-to-back games sooner rather than later:

DeMarcus Cousins has always been a heavy minutes kind of guy, so the minutes restriction he is currently on has been frustrating for the 28-year-old. Then again, the fact that he has been listening intently to the team's training staff speaks volumes of how he has matured over the past year.

Cousins was very impressive on Thursday, logging a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double, along with two assists, a steal, and a block. It was, however, in a losing effort as the Warriors had no answer for Aaron Gordon (22 points, 15 rebounds), who led his team to an unlikely 103-96 victory.

This was the second night of a back-to-back set for the Warriors, as Cousins was rested on Wednesday against the Miami Heat. The Dubs lost that one as well, 126-125, thanks to a Dwyane Wade game-winner from deep.

The Warriors have now lost two in a row, but following a defeat by the second-place Denver Nuggets against the Utah Jazz, the Dubs are still clinging to the first spot in the Western Conference with a half-game advantage against the Nuggets.
