In a stunning move that shook the basketball world, former New Orleans Pelicans star DeMarcus Cousins agreed to join the two-time defending Golden State Warriors on a one-year, $5.3 million deal. On April 9 this upcoming season, Cousins will make his return to The Big Easy in his new Warriors uniform.

Cousins' deal with the Dubs shocked everyone, but he made it known that he had no significant offers until he decided to sign with the champs. This could be traced to a devastating Achilles injury he suffered last season.

Cousins is expected to miss the early part of the season because he is still recuperating from the injury. However, since this game in New Orleans is right at the end of the regular season, Boogie should be ready and able to play by then.

Cousins has put up huge numbers throughout his career and averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists last before unfortunately ending the year with the Achilles injury. The big man has never been to the playoffs before, so he is hoping to be healthy for a long playoff run with Golden State.

While Cousins' injury was a tough blow to the Pelicans, they quickly recovered by acquiring Nikola Mirotic and making the postseason. They then stunned the Portland Trail Blazers with a four-game sweep in the first round before losing to the Warriors in five games.

With Cousins gone for good, New Orleans has turned to former Los Angeles Laker Julius Randle in the frontcourt.
