Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green made his long-awaited return from a 16-game layoff against the Memphis Grizzlies on MLK Day. Though the Warriors suffered perhaps their worst defeat of the season on Monday, Green still found a way to talk smack about the Grizzlies fans. On The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors veteran revealed that the spattering of boos he received from the Memphis crowd inspired him in his return from suspension.

“It also felt good to boo the crowd back, because they were booing like always in [ the Grizzlies vs. Warriors game]…,” Green said. “They wanted me in free agency, it would have been really funny if I ended up in Memphis… But yeah, they really hate me [in Memphis] and to be honest, I love it and I love them. I love that they love to hate me… I think their fans are hilarious.”

That's just Grade A trolling from the four-time NBA champ. Nonetheless, it seems like there has been no love lost between Green and Grizzlies fans.

Unfortunately, the Grizzlies had the last laugh as they took down their bitter rivals. And to make matters worse for the Warriors, Memphis did not have Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Marcus Smart due to injury.

Green and the Warriors watched the youngest player in the NBA GG Jackson II, who went viral after the game because of his post-game interview with Shaquille O'Neal, light them up for a career-best 23 points. Vince Williams Jr., who went 47th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, also scored a career-high 24 points.

The Warriors are currently 12th in the Western Conference with an 18-21 record and should look to be major players ahead of the trade deadline.
