The Golden State Warriors have reportedly inked free agent big man Willie Cauley-Stein to a deal — and part of the reason why is due to the seven-footer's proficiency in the pick-and-roll.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the current construction of the Warriors roster will force the team to run more pick-and-rolls. And the Dubs believe that the addition of Cauley-Stein, who is an excellent screener and rim-runner, will help them in that regard.

The Warriors also re-signed big man Kevon Looney. It's unclear what the situation is with 24-year-old center Damian Jones, who is under contract for next season and currently participating in Summer League activities with the team.

Cauley-Stein last played for the Sacramento Kings, the team that selected the big man out of the University of Kentucky with the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Cauley-Stein reportedly told Sacramento that he wants a change of scenery, and the Kings obliged and renounced their matching rights after signing free-agent big man Dewayne Dedmon.

Cauley-Stein was a solid rim-running threat for the Kings in his tenure, particularly when he was paired with rising star De'Aaron Fox, the fifth overall pick in the 2017 draft.

In 295 games over four years with the Kings, the 25-year-old big man averaged 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists, shooting 53.4 percent from the floor and 61.1 percent from the free throw line.
