The Golden State Warriors are certainly not going to be the same team next season that they were the past few years.

Kevin Durant is gone, Andre Iguodala was traded and Klay Thompson is expected to miss most of the season while he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered in the NBA Finals.

The Warriors did land D'Angelo Russell and were able to re-sign Kevon Looney, but that's about it.

Based on everything that has happened, do we seriously need to worry about Golden State missing the playoffs next season? ESPN's Bobby Marks thinks so, going as far to say that he thinks the Dubs will be sitting home once the postseason begins in 2020:

I'm not so sure about this.

Yes, the Warriors won't be nearly as good as they were this season or in previous years, but they still have Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, not to mention a winning system instituted by head coach Steve Kerr.

Russell is no Thompson, but he is a nice offensive player who should at least help Golden State score points in Klay's absence.

Plus, in order for the Warriors to miss the playoffs, eight teams would have to finish in front of them. Can we say for sure that there will be eight teams in the Western Conference that will finish with better records than the Dubs next season?

That seems kind of hard to believe.

Barring more injuries, the Warriors should be a playoff team next year, and don't think for a second they aren't keeping notes on everyone who says they won't be.
