James Wiseman is finally back on the NBA hardcourt, and the Golden State Warriors star couldn't be any happier that he has made it to this point.

The Warriors big man missed all of the 2021-22 season due to a knee injury that required surgery. In fact, he hasn't played in 526 days prior to Sunday as he underwent rehab and dealt with setbacks in his recovery.

While Summer League competition doesn't compare to real NBA basketball, Wiseman showed everyone the skills that made him the no. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He was all over the floor right from the start, and it was quite the scene for all Warriors fans watching the contest.

Naturally after the game–one that saw the Dubs beat the San Antonio Spurs 86-85–Wiseman expressed how grateful he is to finally be back.

“I feel great just to run out there and be out there with my teammates. Just grateful I'm out here. I haven't played in a whole year and a half, so it's kinda difficult for me out there, but I'm gonna get back to it,” Wiseman said in his postgame interview.

James Wiseman played just 19 minutes on Sunday as Golden State eases him back to game shape; however, he certainly made the most of his start and playing time, finishing with 11 points, two rebounds and two blocks.

As Wiseman said, he is far from being 100 percent ready for NBA basketball, but he is getting back to slowly but surely. Hopefully when training camp begins and they play their preseason games, the young center will be in better condition.
