The Golden State Warriors have suspended forward/center Jordan Bell for conduct detrimental to the team, the team announced on Wednesday. Bell is set to serve his suspension tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Bell was already facing grim odds at getting a spot in the playoff rotation after the arrival of Andrew Bogut, now the fourth center in the depth chart after starter DeMarcus Cousins, backup Kevon Looney and the aforementioned Aussie big man.

This is unlikely to help his chances at carving out minutes, which would have been otherwise limited to very particular matchups in which head coach Steve Kerr would be in need of a spry, athletic body to defend.

Bell has been a disappointment this season after a somewhat inconclusive rookie year filled with injuries and a rollercoaster's worth of performances, which had made this season a completely nightmare for the aspiring role player.

The Oregon product lost the race for the starting spot early in the season, finishing behind fill-in starter Damian Jones and trusty backup Kevon Looney. His lack of offensive aggression and poor defensive discipline have mired him into this position, one that could put his career in danger moving forward, considering Bogut was signed past this 2018-19 campaign and Jones is expected to return next season as well to battle for the starting job.
