Juan Toscano Anderson is the lone player repping the Golden State Warriors on NBA All-Star Saturday night. With both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson sitting out the three-point contest this year, there's arguably nobody more fitting to represent the franchise given how much he bleeds blue and gold.

“I thought he was trolling,” the Warriors forward said when his agent told him he was invited to the NBA dunk contest. “Me? Out of everyone in the NBA? Why would I say no?”

In his recent interview with Shayna Rubin of Enterprise-Record, JTA spilled that he'd always been infatuated with Warriors icon Jason Richardson, two-time NBA dunk contest champion and one of the best high-flyers the league has ever seen.

“I used to dunk and think I was him and do the dunks he did,” he said, referring to Richardson. “J-Rich is a legend to me. We always talk about the Kobes, the LeBrons, the Ray Allens. But J-Rich, he’s a legend in many places. But for an Oakland kid, I used to come to games when tickets were practically free. Watch him do all these exciting dunks, watch him win, he’s a legend to me.”

In channeling his inner J-Rich, Juan Toscano-Anderson is hoping to inspire the next generation of young hoopers seeing someone from their team light up the dunk contest.

“I want Warriors fans to enjoy seeing someone from their favorite team in the dunk contest,” he said. “And for real Warriors fans to have a nostalgic moment.”

Dub Nation is behind you, JTA.
