Tonight, Klay Thompson officially returns to the NBA hardwood for the first time since 2019. It's a huge game for the Golden State Warriors, who will get one of the game's best shooters back in their lineup as they shoot for a championship. They face the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Chase Center.
Kevin Durant, Thompson's old costar, recognized what a momentous occasion this was for Golden State. Although he left the team on uneven terms, Durant showed Thompson love as he makes his highly anticipated season debut, saying that every fan of basketball will be tuned in to see him.

Durant and Thompson spent three years together alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, bringing two champions to Golden State. Although the team produced lots of drama, they proceed even more high-level basketball.
Green and Curry are also super excited to welcome Thompson back. His sharpshooting and defense will make a great Warriors team even better. At 29-9, the Warriors are in a dogfight with the Phoenix Suns for the best record in the league. As Thompson gets familiar with full-speed basketball again, he will greatly help their fight for the Western Conference's top seed.
Now, with Durant on the Brooklyn Nets, the next time he'll run into Thompson is on the court. With the Nets and Warriors both looking like favorites to win their respective conferences, it's possible Durant could square off with his old team in the NBA Finals.
