No one really knows just what was going on with Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant.

Durant injured his calf during Game 5 of the Warriors' second-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets and hasn't played a game since.

There was some hope that Durant could play in Game 3 or 4 of the NBA Finals, but Durant ended up missing both games. Now, with Game 5 looming on Monday night, Durant is finally expected to return to the lineup.

Warriors big man Kevon Looney, who came back from an injury himself in Game 4, shed some light on the situation ahead of Game 5:

“If he's able to play now, first time playing with everybody in a long time, it's gonna be exciting,” said Looney, via Mark Medina of The Mercury News. “It's still gonna be a tough challenge for us, but we're ready for his challenge. If he's able to play, we'll have all our troops, and we're ready to go out there and leave it all on the court.”

Without Durant, Golden State has fallen behind 3-1 against the Toronto Raptors in these Finals, and in Game 3, the Dubs were also without Looney and Klay Thompson, both of whom returned in Game 4.

Obviously, Durant's presence alone will have a major impact on this series, both from a stylistic standpoint and from an emotional point of view, as you have to figure the Warriors will get a big lift in terms of adrenaline and motivation with him back on the floor.
