The injury woes continue for the Golden State Warriors.

Dubs big man Kevon Looney will be out for at least an additional two weeks after undergoing further testing for nerve-related issues, the team announced in a statement on Wednesday:

Looney played in the season opener, scoring three points and pulling down nine rebounds, including five offensive boards. However, he played just 10 minutes, an early indication that something may have been off.

The Warriors re-signed Looney to a three-year, $15 million deal this summer in the hopes that he could provide vital frontcourt depth an added veteran leadership following the loss of both Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins in free agency.

Unfortunately, just about everyone on the Warrior roster has been susceptible to injury.

Golden State already began the year without Klay Thompson, but they lost Stephen Curry for at least three months after Curry suffered a broken left hand. To make matters worse, Draymond Green has also missed time due to ligament damage in his index finger, and D'Angelo Russell is nursing a sprained ankle.

The Warriors managed to knock off the Portland Trail Blazers at home thanks to 34 points from second-round draft pick Eric Paschall, but they face an uphill battle until they get healthy.

Golden State especially misses someone like Looney on the defensive end. The Dubs are dead-last in terms of defensive rating according to Basketball-Reference, and Looney's ability to control the pain while also switching out onto guards on the perimeter is an invaluable aspect of team defense.

However, the Warriors will have to get by with Paschall and Willie Cauley-Stein in the frontcourt with Looney on the sidelines for another two weeks.
