Golden State Warriors starting shooting guard Klay Thompson is more known for his offensive prowess, shooting the lights out when given the slightest of spaces by his defenders. His offensive game has helped the Warriors win three of the last four championships but the 2016 three-point shootout champion says there is still one thing missing in his list of achievements, as per Chinmay Vaidya of WatchStadium.com:

“The past few years, there’s been some guys where I’m like, ‘Man, I know I’m a better defender than him,… I really want to make one of those teams. I think I put the work in on both ends to get that recognition.”

With three championships on his belt, All-Star appearances, and All-NBA Team selections, he strongly believes he should be part of the All-Defensive Team. His teammates agree with on that.

“He doesn’t get enough respect for his defense,” Green said in Mark Medina's article for The Mercury News. “But his defense is a key part of what we do.”

Truly, playing defense is a team effort but Klay's individual efforts should not be left unnoticed and unrecognized. And no matter how many All-Defensive Team snubs he'll have in his career, his defense on the opponent's top guard will always be vindicated with the championships that they win. His quest to be the top two-way player will surely be his motivation this season.
