Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson has step forward during a time of need, announcing that he will donate $1,000 per point scored throughout the next three home games toward victims of recent the North Bay wildfires.

The organization has been proactive by donating money, clothes, and supplies throughout this rough time for Northern Californians, as well as supplying community assistance through their players and staff.

Thompson will now putting his scoring cape on for one of the all-time best offenses, hoping to make every bucket count for these families that have been displaced through mother nature.

“Let’s stick together, because loved ones and families have been displaced and lost from these terrible events,” Thompson said in the video. “Property has been damaged, but we can build this thing back up if we stick together and donate.”

His announcement comes 10 days after he finished a group interview offering his support to those affected by the recent Wine Country wildfires.

“It puts life in perspective on what’s important,” Thompson said, according to Connor LeTourneau of The San Francisco Chronicle. “I know there have been some deaths, and it’s just really tragic. Us players will do something about it when things calm down.”

Thompson has averaged 20 or more points during his last three seasons with the team, including a career-high last season with 22.3 per game. If he holds true to form during the next three home games — a three-game home stand against the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, and the Detroit Pistons from Oct. 25-29 — he could donate at least $60,000 in front of sold-out crowds at Oracle Arena.
