Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green caught the eye of one Magic Johsnon on Saturday night. On the latest episode of “Magic Johnson tweets about the NBA Playoffs,” the Lakers legend showed his appreciation of a fellow Michigan State Spartan in classic Magic Johnson fashion:

Ever since he publicly stepped down as Lakers president, Magic has been tweeting to his heart’s delight, sharing his insights and feelings on every playoff game so far.

His analysis Saturday was spot on as Green’s all-around performance led the defending champs in their 110-99 Game 3 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Draymond Green recorded his third triple-double of the playoffs and finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists, and four steals. The former Defensive Player of the Year also anchored the Warriors’ defense in the second half, when they outscored the Blazers 57-33 after the intermission.

As Johnson said in his tweet, Green put together an all-around masterpiece for the two-time defending champs in Game 3. Green’s footprints were all over the place in this one, as he did a great job anchoring the defense, making plays for his teammates, and occasionally scoring for himself. His voice and leadership on the Warriors’ sidelines was likewise on full display.

Stephen Curry led Golden State with 36 points, while Klay Thompson chipped in 19 markers. Despite another impressive outing for Curry, the game ball should definitely go to Green, who was spectacular on both ends.

Draymond Green and the Warriors only need one more win to advance to a fifth straight NBA Finals.  The third-seeded Blazers, on the other hand, will try to extend the series to a Game 5 at Oracle Arena.
