After being ruled out for the rest of the regular season, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry vows to do everything in his power to get back in time for the playoffs.

Curry has been out since mid-March after sustaining a foot injury in their game against the Boston Celtics. He suffered the injury after Marcus Smart pinned his foot while diving for a loose ball, forcing the sharpshooter to exit the game and never to return. The Warriors guard missed the team's next seven games after that, and he is now set to be absent in their remaining five games–including Saturday's showdown with the Utah Jazz.

Of course there are concerns over his ability to return by the playoffs, and Curry himself admitted that the timing of the injury is “not ideal.” However, he is keeping a positive mindset about his health. He is also putting his full trust to the Dubs that they can finish the season strong and be ready for any team they face in the playoffs.

“I know it's not ideal, in terms of ending the season… I'm gonna do everything I can to get fully healthy for the playoff run, that's what it's all about at this point and time. Just being there for my teammates, trying to finish off the season strong, and whoever we play in the playoffs, we'll be ready,” Curry said, per Anthony Flores of NBC Bay Area.

It is definitely worrisome for Warriors fans that Stephen Curry cannot guarantee his return. Nonetheless, hearing him speak about his desire to get back healthy as soon as possible is better than receiving no update at all.

Curry and the Warriors cannot rush his injury, with a two-week marker initially given to him in order to see how his injury is healing. He is set to be re-evaluated once again soon, and hopes are high he'll get a better update when that time comes.

For what it's worth, we reported earlier that both Curry and Golden State have a significant level of confidence that the two-time MVP will be available for the playoffs (via Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews of ESPN).

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will have his left foot sprain re-evaluated in a week, but both he and the team are confident that the recovery timeline will allow for him to be back for the start of the Western Conference playoffs, sources told ESPN on Friday.

The Warriors have won just once in the games they played since Curry's injury, making it clear they need him for the postseason. They are virtually secured of a spot in the playoffs, so they still have some room for error as they try to navigate the final stretch of the regular season.

Nonetheless, they also need to find a way to win games without Curry, so as to prepare in the event that the 34-year-old needs more time to heal and recover when they playoffs start. The Warriors initially hoped to get him some game time before they head to the postseason, but now that they no longer have that luxury, the rest of the Dubs need to step up and show the depth of their squad.

Much of the pressure will be on Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole and Draymond Green as the team awaits Curry's return.
