If anyone had any doubt as to whether or not Stephen Curry was going to have problems with the Boston Celtics' elite defense, then the Golden State Warriors superstar just quashed any and all uncertainty. Curry dropped a record-breaking 21-point first quarter in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

It didn't take long before the greatest shooter of all time started breaking all sorts of records in the Finals. In the first quarter of Game 1, the Warriors guard was able to overtake Los Angeles Lakers icon James Worthy on the NBA Finals all-time scoring leaderboard (h/t Basketball Reference on Twitter):

With his 14 points in the 1st quarter tonight, Stephen Curry has passed James Worthy for the 13th most points scored in a career in the NBA Finals (754)

Curry needed just 14 points to surpass Worthy and the Warriors achieved that feat in the first quarter of Game 1. Steph actually dropped 21 points in the opening period behind a record-breaking six triples, so you could say that the former back-to-back MVP was feeling himself in this one.

There is no doubt that Curry will continue to climb this particular leaderboard in this series. Depending on how this year's Finals plays out, the Warriors superstar could actually enter the Top 10. At the moment, it's another Lakers legend that's sitting on the 10th spot in Magic Johnson, who has 971 career points in the NBA Finals.
