Sideline report Doris Burke has worked her way up from sideline reporter to full-time NBA analyst this year for ESPN. It was also just announced that she would be receiving the Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The award is given to someone in the media that has given a “significant contribution to the game of basketball.”

With March being woman's history month Steve Kerr was asked during morning shootaround about a woman who has made a big impact on him.

Steve Kerr talked about how big of impact Doris Burke has had on his broadcasting and also his personal life.

“I was in broadcasting for eight years, and I've gotten to know Doris the last few years as a coach because she has done a lot of our games. She has been incredibly inspiring because she has taken on a man's role and conquered it. She is one of the very best analysts we have in the NBA and think of the odds of that happening as a woman. It's an incredible feat and she is an inspiring human being. I am a big fan of Doris…well both Drake and I are big fans of Doris.”

Steve Kerr is always so thoughtful with his answers, and Doris deserves all the praise that comes her way. She has moved her way up the ESPN ranks by using hard work and dedication of the sport she loves.

This isn't the first time that Kerr has talked about how much he admires Burke, and it certainly won't be the last.
