Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, and what he does offensively for the Golden State Warriors is just incredible. However, many people consider him a liability on defense.

Steve Kerr and Gary Payton II want to put an end to that notion, though, especially after Curry's all-around performance in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. The Warriors sharpshooter finished with a game-high 29 points in the 107-88 win, but he also contributed six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Kerr highlighted his belief that Curry's defense and the work he put in on that end are underappreciated.

“Steph was breathtaking in that quarter. Not just the shotmaking but the defensive effort. He just doesn't get enough credit for his level of conditioning, physicality and defense,” Steve Kerr said of his superstar.

Meanwhile, Payton noted that everyone on the team considers Steph as a two-way player, adding that “he's in the right spots at the right time … he talks to his teammates, he's vocal, and he leads by example on both sides of the court.”

“Steph is a two-way player. He does a lot on the other side… Guys don't see it but we see it on this team for sure,” Payton added.

Stephen Curry is definitely proving to be a capable defender for the Dubs. As the Celtics learned the hard way in Game 2, they can't overlook Curry and think of him as an offensive juggernaut alone. Just like what Steve Kerr and Gary Payton II emphasized, it's time to put respect his defense.
