The Golden State Warriors are set to face the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round of the playoffs. And Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has already figured out exactly what type of series it will be.

As reported by Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, Kerr said that it will be a defensive transition series:

Kerr is referring to the pace at which the Pelicans run their offense. Whenever they have an opportunity, they run the ball and as Kerr observed, such an offensive playstyle will create all sorts of mismatches. Given this situation, the defense has to make their rotations quickly or simply muster up and defend someone who's bigger or quicker than them.

The Pelicans, who surprisingly swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, hold the number one offensive rating in the playoffs with 114.7 points, as revealed by statistics culled by the NBA. The Warriors, who wrapped up their series with the San Antonio Spurs in five games, are third in offensive rating with 111.2 points.

On the defensive end, the Warriors are number one in the playoffs, with a rating of 100.3. The Pelicans are sixth, with a defensive rating of 104.3.

Perhaps the biggest problem for the Warriors will be how to contain Anthony Davis, who possesses greater athleticism that their frontcourt line up combined.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, have to contain the whole offense of the Warriors, which heavily relies on the system set by Kerr. And they all have the capacity to do so, led by Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo who shut down the Blazers duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum.

Game 1 is set to tip off in Oakland, April 28, 10:30 p.m. ET.
