Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant doesn't only make power moves on the court. Apparently, he's also sumptuous in the investment game.

According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, Kevin Durant's investment on delivery service Postmates has increased its value by up to 10 times. The company is currently being valued at $1.85 billion.

Kevin Durant is undoubtedly a superstar in the business world too. However, the Warriors forward is not claiming the credit all to himself and has openly admitted that his success was because of the people around him.

“I know I’m just a basketball player, so I was smart enough to hire people who are really good in that field,” Durant told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype last March when asked about his business ventures.

“I can’t take all of the credit for that. I have such a great team of people around me who have pushed me to explore that field and learn more about it because, like I said, I’m just a basketball player. That’s what I do and I usually don’t want to do anything else. I’m happy when I’m playing basketball. But I have to give a ton of credit to the people who forced me to think outside of the box a bit because it’s changed my life and made my life more interesting. It’s not for every basketball player and it doesn’t always turn out this way, but for me, it was a natural progression and things really worked out.”

Sure enough, every great team needs its main attraction, and Kevin Durant has definitely been just that.

Marketers and players believe that the influence Durant emits has been successful because of how relatable his story is for young athletes around the world.

Players like Kevin Durant and LeBron James are continuing to use their platform for so much more than just basketball, and they are changing the mindset of current and future professional athletes with their innovative personas.
