If the Golden State Warriors really want to trade for Kevin Durant and reunite with him, they can definitely offer one of the better packages out there.
On Sunday, Marc J. Spears of ESPN and Andscape revealed that the Warriors indeed have an “interest” in Durant after the superstar forward demanded a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. On ESPN Radio, he then went on to share what the Dubs “could” potentially offer to entice Brooklyn to pull the trigger on the deal.
Put simply, a deal centered around Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman might move the needle for the Nets, and rightfully so.
“The one team I’m telling you guys to keep an eye on is the Golden State Warriors,” Spears said, via NBC Sports. “Golden State could have the best package for both parties. Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, All-Star Andrew Wiggins, the former No. 2 pick James Wiseman. What the Nets want is a young All-Star and want perhaps a future All-Star. They’re all under 30. They also want picks, maybe the ability to swap picks. But if you can get those four players, if I’m the Nets, I’m very, very happy.
The question is whether the Warriors should really do the deal or not. While they are familiar with Kevin Durant and he can definitely play within the system, the team will be basically sacrificing their future to win now.
Not to mention that they have already proven to to be capable of winning with their current roster without KD.
Golden State's level of interest in Durant is certainly something worth keeping an eye. The Nets want a LOT in any deal for KD and as Spears mentioned, they would want more than just players in return.
