NBA games demand a lot from its players. On average, each player is on the court for 20 to 30 minutes. And during that time, players are expected to be on full-throttle. Catching your breath for a few minutes could mean an easy lay-up for the opposing team.

JaVale McGee of the Golden State Warriors seems to fully understand this reality. Calories represent fuel. So he did what any logical person would do during a dead-ball situation, replace your burnt calories by way of some popcorn.

As posted by Rob Perez on Twitter, the clip below shows McGee heading out of bounds after a failed scramble. Out of the blue, he reaches into a popcorn that belongs to one of the fans:

This is not the first time that an NBA player has chowed down some food from the fans. Several clips of LeBron James, Kyle Lowry, and Ian Clark casually picking up a few pieces of popcorn or fries from the audience can be found online.

The fans don't seem to complain whatsoever. They certainly paid a good sum for those snacks, along with the courtside seats for a good view. But it's not every day that these players decide to stick their hands into their food.

But if replenishing the lost calories from playing is these athletes' aim, maybe they should take a bite out of a burger and not popcorn. Popcorns don't have much nutritional value anyway unless they're dabbed with powder flavorings.
