Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson reflected on the first time he met Michael Jordan during the height of Chicago Bulls hysteria in the late-90s.

Thompson said his father, Mychal–a former NBA player himself–brought the family into the tunnel to meet the Bulls after a game, calling the experience “motivating” and one he will never forget.

Jordan and the Bulls were rockstars at the tail end of the 90s, hence why ESPN's “The Last Dance” about the 1997-98 Bulls is generating so much buzz and fanfare.

For his part, Thompson is putting together a career worthy of being at least mentioned with the likes of Jordan and the other elite shooting guards in NBA history.

Thompson has made five All-Star teams with the Warriors as well as a pair of All-NBA teams and an All-Defensive mention. He is also a three-time NBA champion, and is already regarded as one of the best shooters in league history.

But before Thompson aspired to greatness of his own, he was just another kid in awe of Michael Jordan.
