The Chicago White Sox have championship aspirations for the 2022 season. They have the most talent in the AL Central and expect to be able to compete with the best teams in the MLB. Many bettors are rolling with the White Sox to go all the way to the World Series. However, the team has already lost their two best starting pitchers to injury in Lance Lynn and Lucas Giolito.

Giolito is expected to miss his next two starts at minimum, while Lynn is expected to miss anywhere from 1-2 months. And on Saturday, outfielder AJ Pollock left the White Sox vs. Tigers game with an apparent hamstring ailment, per Jim Bowden.

Pollock was recently acquired via trade from the Dodgers for Craig Kimbrel. He is a player who has always possessed the talent to be a star in the league, but injuries have held him back from reaching his true potential. Pollock blasted 21 home runs to go along with a solid .297/.355/.536 line and an .892 OPs in just 117 games last year for the Dodgers. He likely would have been in the All-Star conversation had he played a full season.

The White Sox hoped to utilize him in an everyday role upon acquiring him from LA. But this injury could prove detrimental to Pollock's 2022 output. However, there is a chance that he avoided any kind of serious injury. All Tony La Russa and the White Sox can do is hope that AJ Pollock will return to the field as soon as possible.

Chicago will continue looking for ways to overcome their early season injury concerns.
