The Green Bay Packers are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this week in what is going to be a very tough matchup. While the Chargers have not had a great season thus far, they have a ton of talent on their roster. Adrian Amos is going to be a major X-Factor for the Packers in this game due to the weapons that L.A.'s offense has.

Amos was one of the huge offseason additions made by general manager Brian Gutekunst. He is without question one of the most underrated safeties in the game and has played well for the Packers this season so far.

While he has played well, the Packers are going to need him to play like a star this week. The Chargers have a lethal aerial attack and Melvin Gordon is a threat at all times even amid his struggles this year. Amos will have to play a big role in both of those aspects of the game.

Why Is Adrian Amos The Packers' Top X-Factor?

Without further delay, it's time to look at why Amos must step up this week and why he is the Packers' top X-Factor.

First of all, the Chargers boast a passing attack with names like Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry, and Mike Williams. Philip Rivers is still an elite NFL quarterback and is going to test the Green Bay secondary. Amos isn't known for his coverage or playmaking skills, but he needs to flash some of them this week.

Green Bay has received solid production from cornerbacks Kevin King and Jaire Alexander, but there are going to be times this week that they get beat. Amos needs to make sure that he stays home over the top. If he has a chance to make a play on the ball, he has to come through and make that play.

Secondly, the presence of Gordon is going to give the Packers some trouble. They have given up some big plays against the run this season and Amos is a great run-stopping safety.

Amos has to be able to come up and make plays on Gordon. If the Chargers utilize Austin Ekeler a lot, the same will hold true. Green Bay needs their safeties to make open field tackles this week.

Obviously, Amos isn't the only one that has to step up, but he cannot afford to make key errors. Green Bay is without question capable of slowing down the Chargers' offense, but not without a good performance from Amos. Everything will start with the back of the secondary for the Packers in this game.

Expect to see Amos rise to the occasion. He was given big money for a reason and he is going to show why this week.
