The Dallas Wings were hopeful that Arike Ogunbowale could help the team snap their seven-game losing streak on Monday against the Minnesota Lynx. However, Dallas will need to find a way to win without the superstar guard. Ogunbowale, who has enjoyed a fantastic 2024 campaign, has been ruled out for Monday's game due to Achilles soreness. She is considered day-to-day.

Ogunbowale is the leader of the team. She is not afraid to challenge her teammates when things are not going according to plan. Ogunbowale has also produced All-Star caliber statistics.

The 27-year-old is averaging 24.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game in 2024. Her production has impacted the Wings without question. They started the season fighting hard despite a number of injuries. Had Ogunbowale not been playing at such a high level, the Wings likely would have struggled even more to open the campaign.

With that being said, Dallas has endured trouble in recent action as evidenced by the team's losing streak. The Lynx, meanwhile, lead the Western Conference with a 10-3 record. There is no question that the game on Monday will present a significant challenge for the Wings.

Players such as Teaira McCowan and Maddy Siegrist have played well over the past few games. Both McCowan and Siegrist will need to have huge performances in order to lead Dallas to a victory on the road against Minnesota.

If players such as Jacy Sheldon, Kalani Brown, and Sevgi Uzun can step up around McCowan and Siegrist, then perhaps an upset will become more realistic.

Limiting turnovers and overall mistakes will be of the utmost importance. The Wings cannot expect to defeat such a talented team without Ogunbowale if they are turning the ball over. Taking care of the ball and limiting mistakes will place the pressure on the Lynx.

Arike Ogunbowale's leadership will still be a factor. She is going to do everything she can to help her team from the sidelines. But on Monday, it will be up to the Wings, who are already without Satou Sabally, Natasha Howard, and Jaelyn Brown. The Wings and Lynx will go head-to-head at 8 PM EST on Monday night.
