The Washington Wizards saw their superstar shooting guard Bradley Beal exit Saturday's contest against the Detroit Pistons, and as it appears, the 27-year-old could be in danger of missing time with this injury.

As reported by the Wizards on Twitter, Beal won't be able to return to the game after suffering a right hip contusion:

It is worth noting that Beal came into this matchup nursing a foot problem which he decided to play through. He's pretty banged up right now, so it's not surprising that the Wizards decided to err on the side of caution here. Beal could have probably played on if necessary, but the fact that the Pistons own the worst record in the conference likely factored in on the team's decision to pull out their prized guard.

The good news for Washington is that the injury does not appear to be too serious. Nevertheless, with the Wizards scheduled for a back-to-back set on Monday and Tuesday, Beal could very well be forced to sit out one or even both of those contests. DC gets the Indiana Pacers on Monday followed by a tilt against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.

The Wizards entered Saturday's contest against the Pistons following three consecutive road losses. They are quickly losing all hope for a postseason berth in the Eastern Conference as it looks like they are lottery-bound yet again. Losing Bradley Beal for a considerable period will all but confirm what now feels like something that is inevitable. The Wizards could engage in a full-blown tank very soon.
