Wizards’ Bradley Beal had his first ‘Wow’ moment after having a full conversation with Ray Allen
Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal had the first “Wow” moment of his life during All-Star weekend, as the sharpshooter got to sit down and have a full conversation with his idol, Hall of Famer Ray Allen.
Bradley Beal made his second All-Star team this season. The Wizards’ best player is one of the top shooters in the game and probably watched a bunch of Ray Allen highlights while he was growing up in St. Louis, Missouri.
Before Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry came along, Allen was universally recognized as the greatest shooter of all-time, so it’s easy to see why Beal was starstruck when he got to chat with Allen this weekend in Charlotte.
“I don’t really get starstruck,” Beal told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype. “I’m not really someone who’s in awe [when I meet someone]. But yesterday, for the first time, I had a full conversation with Ray Allen, who’s my idol. That may have been the first time that I was, like, ‘Wow.’ “
Allen has the most 3-pointers in NBA history at 2,973. Curry will eventually break that record, but it doesn’t change the fact that Allen is one of the greatest snipers that the NBA has ever seen.
