Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal underwent season-ending wrist surgery in February, which means he'll have a huge decision to make this offseason on his future with the franchise.
Speaking to media on Thursday, Beal expressed his excitement to watch the Wizards' young players develop for the rest of the season while also dropping a major hint on if he'll re-sign with DC or not.
Bradley Beal says not playing the rest of this season will allow him more time to consider his future and also sit back and watch the roster/young players develop. Called it a blessing in disguise, in that regard. More time to make an important decision.

Bradley Beal when asked if it's fair to say he's leaning towards re-signing: "That's fair, that's fair."

Beal becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. However, the Wizards can offer him a five-year, $246 million extension. He wouldn't make that type of money elsewhere, therefore it's not surprising to see he's leaning on the side of extending his stay.
Although it looked like Washington cleaned house at the deadline, they did trade for Kristaps Porzingis, who should thrive alongside Beal. He hasn't played yet due to injury, but the Wizards definitely made this blockbuster move in order to surround their franchise star with more talent.
The team got off to a terrific start this season, but that quickly took a turn for the worse as they now sit out of the play-in picture. Without Beal in the mix, it's hard to imagine the Wizards having much success as the campaign winds down. Nevertheless, their focus will strictly be on getting Bradley Beal to commit his long-term future to the DC while hopefully signing more key pieces to get the veteran guard some help for 2022/23.
