The Golden State Warriors have been the center of attention lately after Donald Trump withdrew the White House's invitation for the defending NBA champs. This is an unprecedented development as tradition had always seen the NBA's June victors pay a courtesy visit to the POTUS' residence.

However, for Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, she is extending an advanced welcome to the Warriors via her official statement on Twitter. Of course, it won't come without a light jab on the Dubs.

The  45-year-old politician took to her Twitter account recently to show everyone how much she believes in the Wizards. She also added that she welcomes the Dubs to the nation's capital to lose to their team when they play against them at the Verizon Center.

The Wizards have made some important, yet low-key additions over the summer that will strengthen their title contention. These players will provide them with additional firepower, and if they all play their roles well, could turn out to be what the team needs to beat the other powerhouse groups in the Eastern Conference.

It will be very interesting to see how they will matchup against the Warriors, as their regular season games would give their fans a chance to see how they'll fare versus the best team in the NBA today. It also won't be surprising if the mayor will be spotted watching them compete, as she definitely wants to see first hand if the Wizards can help back up her bold claim.
