Kristaps Porzingis was the headline acquisition for the Washington Wizards at the 2022 NBA trade deadline. Although he has rare skills at such a tall height, the big man has always struggled with durability. It's all ESPN analyst Tim Legler had to say about him when he was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to Washington.

In true Porzingis fashion, he didn't play any games for the Wizards before the All-Star break. He is dealing with a knee injury and has been absent since the end of January.

Washington head coach Wes Undeld Jr. said that Porzingis will likely make his debut with the team in their first game after the break, when they face the San Antonio Spurs.

In 34 games for the Mavericks this season, Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks. He can fill the stat sheet at a decent level but lacks any serious impact. His mobility is no longer what it used to be due to the numerous injuries he has dealt with, which decimates his defensive value. When his shooting isn't very good — as it is this season, where he is shooting just 28.3 percent from deep — he is nothing more than a lob option on offense.

When Porzingis does debut for the Wizards, he won't get the chance to play with franchise star Bradley Beal. He underwent season-ending wrist surgery. Although they will have to wait for next season to see it in action, the Beal-Porzingis partnership could be solid together.
