Former WNBA seven-time All-Star Cappie Pondexter has gone missing after being arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to TMZ. It was once reported that Pondexter had not gone missing and had been arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge.

After being released from police custody, however, it appears that the former Indiana Fever point guard has went missing in action. Pondexter has had a shaky timeline after announcing her retirement from the WNBA a year ago. Upon retiring, she sought out a life in traveling to aid those in need.

She sat down with the Associated Press to detail her plans of moving on from the WNBA:

“I'm going all over the world, my mission is to help every individual. If you need help, I'm available,” the 36-year-old said. “That's my mission in life, I have to complete that. I was put here to be bigger than just basketball. I understand that now and [am] ready to take on the amazing things that will come from it.”

Hopefully, the status and whereabouts of the WNBA legend becomes more clear in due time. Pondexter played for multiple teams during her 13-year career in the league. She rose to stardom alongside Diana Taurasi with the Phoenix Mercury, helping them win two championships. She was also voted among the top-15 players in WNBA history back in 2011.

During her career, she averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists. Her career year came in 2010 with the New York Liberty, as she averaged 21.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists.

We hope to hear more positive news on Cappie Pondexter and her safety soon.
