The MyFACTION game mode gets an update as WWE 2K22 Signature Series 1 cards came out at the start of this week. Let's take a look at these cards, their costs, and whether or not it's worth pouring your MF or *gasp* VC into this card pack.
WWE 2K22 Signature Series 1 Contents
Just like in MyTEAM in NBA 2K22, WWE 2K22's MyFACTION packs come in different packages. Here are the different packs you can purchase and for how much:
- Basic Pack (9,740 MF or 5625 VC) – Contains 1 Guaranteed Signature Series 1 Superstar and 4 Random Items
- Deluxe Pack (16,250 MF or 7,500 VC) – Contains 1 Guaranteed Signature Series 1 Superstar and 4 Random Items
- Basic 10 Pack (97,400 MF or 56,250 VC) – Contains 1 Guaranteed Signature Series 1 Superstar and 4 Random Items
- Deluxe 10 Pack (162,500 MF or 75,000 VC) – Contains 1 Guaranteed Signature Series 1 Superstar and 4 Random Items
- Deluxe 20 Pack (325,000 MF or 150,000 VC) – Contains 1 Guaranteed Signature Series 1 Superstar and 4 Random Items, Plus One Sapphire Ted DiBiase Manager Box Topper
As you can see, there's no benefit in buying 10-packs, as you don't get any bonus or any discount from them. You just get a better high from it since you're opening 10 packs at once, instead of just one, which will more likely give you more cards that you'd like. Meanwhile, the only reason why anyone would want to buy the Deluxe 20-pack is if they're super keen into getting that Sapphire Ted DiBiase Manager Box Topper. So, are these actually worth grinding for? Let's take a closer look:
Signature Series 1 Review
First off, let's take a look at the Sapphire Ted DiBiase Manager Card that comes as a box topper in the Deluxe 20 Pack. It's disappointing how the Box Topper you're getting for spending that much in-game currency only nets you a manager card – a card that you can't even play with in-game, as the manager only adds boosts to your Superstar Cards. The fact that you get a free Ruby Eric Bischoff manager card if you purchased the nWo 4-Life DLC makes Ted DiBiase less of a chase card – especially since you can technically pay less real life money to get the Ruby card – a much rarer card – than it takes to buy out the Ted DiBiase card. So, the only reason why you'd get this card is if you're super high on Ted DiBiase. Otherwise, it's not worth grinding or spending money on.
What about the Superstar card content? Signature Series 1 continues the disappointing trend right now in MyFACTION where Visual Concepts is gating content – and not only that – they're not even giving you great content. Just like the Prime Time and Superstars Series that came before this, the rarest card you can pull from these packs is an Emerald Card – not Sapphire, Ruby, Amethyst, or Diamond. Those cards still remain locked behind grindy game unlock conditions in WWE 2K22's MyFACTION mode.
What about the wrestlers you're getting? Now, at least here, we have some decent cards to talk about. For the Emerald Cards, we're getting the likes of John Cena, Ric Flair, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Razor Ramon, Sasha Banks, Ted DiBiase, and Io Shirai. Sadly, none of these would give you any unique outfits or versions of these wrestlers. It's nice to have digital cards signed by these wrestlers, but it would have mattered more had these cards been physical. Seeing that they're all digital, they're as worthless as a pile of trash.
Seriously, you can unlock cards in MyFACTION without spending a dime that has much better stats than the cards in the Signature Series 1. So, if you'll heed our advice, don't bother with this card pack. Wait for the next drop if you're still continuing on with this game mode. Save your MF for a card pack that can actually give you Amethysts or Diamonds.
