The New York Yankees pitching has been nothing short of unstoppable over the past month. From top to bottom, from the starting rotation to the bullpen, the staff has been unbelievable. Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes, Clay Holmes and company are simply destroying the opposition.

Across their last three games, the Yankees have allowed just six hits. That's a franchise record.

The Yankees' historic three-game stretch started against the Los Angeles Angels. Jameson Taillon took a perfect game into the eighth inning before allowing two hits. Holmes recorded the save in a 2-1 win. Then, Cole struck out nine Detroit Tigers and was perfect until the seventh inning (making rare MLB history) before allowing a pair of hits. Manny Bañuelos finished out the 13-0 victory, allowing just one hit. Finally, Luis Severino allowed one hit through seven innings before Michael King and Holmes sealed the deal against the Tigers.

New York has gotten outstanding seasons from other pitchers like Cortes (a legitimate Cy Young candidate), Jordan Montgomery, Wandy Peralta and Clarke Schmidt. The numbers over their last month tell the tale.

The Yankees have the best record in all of MLB thanks to their historic dominance on the mound, MVP-worthy season from Aaron Judge and terrific hitting from Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton, Gleyber Torres and Jose Trevino. Even 36-year-old Matt Carpenter is going off, hitting four home runs in seven games. The Evil Empire has reigned supreme so far in the 2022 season.
