The New York Yankees had a rather unceremonious exit to their MLB season, losing to their rival Boston Red Sox in the Wild Card game.
The loss stings extra given the fact that those same Red Sox were expected to flounder this season, while the Yankees were once against slated as one of the World Series favorites. But despite falling short of expectations in brutal fashion, the team is reportedly keen on keeping the manager at the helm in Aaron Boone.

“He likes [Boone], and I don't think he blames him for what happened,” one source said.
In four seasons as manager, Aaron Boone has led the Yankees to a 328-218 record. That amounts to just over a 60% winning percentage or a full-season average of 98.4 wins per year.
But for a fabled franchise like the New York Yankees, almost really is never enough. Despite being the poster child for massive salary spending, they've failed to reach their ultimate goal of a World Series. All signs point to Aaron Boone getting another shot to do just that next season, but that seat gets warmer with every failed attempt.
