Buoyed by a very promising young core and a coach that is sure to instill discipline in the team, the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise appears to be heading towards the right direction.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins lead the pack, but outside of those two, another young Timberwolf is determined to make some serious noise.

3rd-year guard Zach LaVine is known to many for his deft-defying aerial exploits which earned him back-to-back dunk titles. However, he no longer wants to be boxed in that category alone.

Just recently, LaVine revealed to Gerald Narciso of Sports Illustrated his next individual target.

“My ultimate goal is whenever I go on the court, I just want to be known as one of the better players. Everyone has short-term and long-term goals. And a short-term one for me is definitely getting to the All-Star Game in the next couple of years, and I definitely think that's the next step in my career.

“I've been following that pathway pretty well so far, so I'm going to continue to put in time in the gym. I've always been taught that hard work doesn't fail.”

Last season, Zach LaVine showed, when given the opportunity, that he can light up the scoreboard. His per-36 minute stats of 18.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals tell a lot about the 6’5” guard out of UCLA’s potential.
